    Dr. Phemelo Tamasiga is an energy and trade economist with 12+ years spanning research, policy, and industry. He leads CRETEGI’s work on just transitions, climate finance, and green industrial policy, translating open-source modelling and field evidence into investable pathways for governments, industry, and development partners across Africa. His analytical edge comes from hands-on modelling and certification with the UK-FCDO’s Climate Compatible Growth (CCG) programme—covering Energy & Flexibility Modelling (OSeMOSYS, FlexTool), and Financial Modelling for Energy Transitions (MINFIN, FINTRACK, FINCORE)—which he applies to scenario design, localisation assessments, and finance strategies. Phemelo also brings strong industrial experience: Manager, Risk & Portfolio Management at Arvato Financial Solutions (Bertelsmann), where he automated portfolio KPIs with PySpark/Databricks and built credit-risk monitoring systems; earlier roles at KPMG and PwC focused on quantitative transfer-pricing models for multinational clients. He holds a PhD in Economics (Magna cum Laude) from Bielefeld University and an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Quantitative Economics—completed at Bielefeld University and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne—plus a BSc (Hons) from Oxford Brookes University. These credentials anchor his capability to integrate rigorous modelling with policy design and stakeholder engagement. A senior procurement and sustainability professional, she brings more than two decades of experience shaping governance frameworks, advancing ethical sourcing, and building partnerships that translate policy into measurable results. Before joining CRETEGI, Dudu held leadership roles at Debswana Diamond Company, where she institutionalised transparent cost-evaluation standards through the company-wide Rates Manual and strengthened supplier development and social-performance systems. She also led partnerships with SOLTRAIN and the University of Botswana to deploy solar power to community institutions, aligning corporate action with national energy-transition goals. As Divisional Manager (Works) at Botswana’s Public Procurement & Asset Disposal Board, she oversaw major infrastructure procurement, guided regulatory reforms, and delivered national capacity-building programmes in collaboration with regional and international bodies. Dudu holds an MSc in International Construction Project Management (UMIST), a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying (University of Salford), and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (University of Wales), complemented by executive training in PPPs and senior management.
